Shelfless by Bring Setup

Connect Shelfless, Bring’s fulfilment warehouse, so the chatbot can see where an order is at the warehouse and so cancellations reach the warehouse before your shop.

Do I need this?

Only if your orders are picked and shipped by Shelfless, Bring’s fulfilment service. Shelfless is not the same as your Mybring account: Mybring is the carrier and books return labels and tracks parcels (Bring (Mybring) Setup), while Shelfless is the warehouse that holds your stock and packs your orders. Many shops use both.

Shelfless is in beta

It works end to end against Shelfless’s published API, and we check each new shop against its own orders before relying on it. If something looks wrong, contact Supportify support.

What this integration does

Answers from the warehouse

The chatbot can tell a customer where their order is at the warehouse (received, sent for picking, picked, packed, shipped), give them the tracking number and link once it has left, check stock, and tell them whether their return has arrived.

Cancellations reach Shelfless first

When a customer cancels an order, or your team cancels one from the Supportify inbox, Supportify asks Shelfless first. While the order is still with Shelfless’s order system and has not been sent to the warehouse floor, it is cancelled at Shelfless before your shop. Once it has been sent for picking, the cancellation is refused and a colleague follows up, so a refunded order is never shipped.

An order cancelled before it reaches Shelfless is watched

Shelfless imports orders from your shop some time after checkout. If an order is cancelled before that, Supportify keeps checking for 24 hours and cancels it at Shelfless if it turns up. If it can no longer be cancelled by then, you get a warehouse cancellation failed alert so someone can stop it.

Before you start: API access from Bring

1

Ask Bring for Shelfless API access

Shelfless uses its own API credentials: a client ID and a client secret for your customer number. They are not your Mybring login or Mybring API key.

Ask your Shelfless contact at Bring (or Mybring customer service) for API access to Shelfless for your customer number. If they offer test credentials as well, those are for Shelfless’s QA environment.

Setup

2

Connect Shelfless in Supportify

  1. Go to Settings → Integrations → Shelfless by Bring and click Connect.
  2. API access — paste the client ID and client secret, choose Production (or QA for test credentials), and click Test connection.
  3. Orders — Supportify shows your customer number and the newest orders Shelfless holds, and compares them with your shop’s own orders. Check that the comparison says they are your orders, and keep the naming it suggests.
  4. How orders are handled — choose the settings below.
  5. Review & save.

If none of the orders are yours

If the wizard says none of these are orders in your shop, do not save yet. The credentials most likely belong to another Shelfless account. Saved anyway, Supportify would read every order as not yet imported, and cancellations would reach your shop without reaching Shelfless.

Settings

  • Cancel in the warehouse first (on by default) — a cancellation goes to Shelfless before your shop, and is refused once the order has been sent for picking.
  • Stop order edits once the warehouse has the order (on by default) — an address change or item swap on an order Shelfless already holds is refused and handed to your team, who make it in Shelfless. Orders Shelfless has not imported yet can still be changed.
  • Verify the customer’s email first (on by default) — the customer confirms a code before the chatbot reads out anything about an order.

With the first switch off, a cancellation made in your shop does not reach Shelfless, so a cancelled order can still be shipped.

What it does not do yet

3

Changing an order at Shelfless

Supportify does not send order changes to Shelfless. A change to an order Shelfless already holds is refused and handed to your team, so the warehouse never ships an order that differs from your shop without anyone knowing.

Registering returns at Shelfless

Returns are not registered at Shelfless from the chat. The warehouse books a return in when the parcel arrives, and from then on the chatbot can tell the customer it has arrived.

FAQ

4

We lock orders tagged “Bring-importert”. Do we still need that?

That lock stops the chatbot changing an order as soon as Shelfless has imported it, which was the only signal available before this integration. With Shelfless connected, Supportify asks Shelfless directly and refuses a cancellation only once the order has been sent for picking. Keeping the lock is your choice; it is simply stricter. Ask Supportify support to check your shop’s numbers first.

Why was a cancellation refused for an order that has not shipped?

Shelfless accepts a cancellation only until the order is sent to the warehouse for picking, which can be well before it ships. After that, only Shelfless can stop it. Contact Shelfless with the order number.

The chatbot says it can’t find an order that is at Shelfless

Shelfless may name your orders differently from what was chosen during setup. Open the integration again, enter the client ID and secret, run Test connection, and check what the comparison says. If that doesn’t settle it, contact Supportify support.
